Hidden Valley Broome was born out of a deeply personal transformation.
In her early forties, Ali decided to give up a long-term smoking habit and turned to aromatherapy as part of her healing journey. A chance encounter with The Fragrant Pharmacy by Valerie Worwood, along with a handful of essential oils, sparked a creative fire that changed her life.
Experimenting in her family kitchen, Ali began handcrafting soaps using traditional cold-process methods. She experimented tirelessly, drawing inspiration from the stunning Kimberley landscapes — from the ochre cliffs of Gantheaume Point to the turquoise waters of Cable Beach. Encouraged by family, friends, and early customers at the Broome Courthouse Markets, she registered Hidden Valley Handcrafts in 1995.
What began as small market stalls has now grown into Hidden Valley Broome, a beloved local business with a loyal following across Australia. Yet despite our growth, we’ve stayed true to our roots: crafting every product by hand, in small batches, using pure plant-based ingredients.
