Broome Time Resort: A Relaxed Resort-Style Stay in Broome for Business and Leisure Travellers

Broome Time Resort: A Relaxed Resort-Style Stay in Broome for Business and Leisure Travellers

A relaxed, resort-style stay in Broome designed for both business and leisure travellers

✦ ✦ ✦

In a place like Broome, accommodation isn’t just about a bed for the night—it’s about how well your stay supports everything else you’re there to do.

You need somewhere that’s comfortable, practical, well-located, and easy to settle into.

That’s exactly what Broome Time Resort delivers.

Ideally positioned between Broome’s town centre in Chinatown and the world-famous Cable Beach, Broome Time Resort offers a relaxed, resort-style environment with all the essentials built in. It’s a place where guests can unwind, stay connected, and enjoy a genuinely local experience—without overcomplication.

Formerly known as Ocean Lodge, Broome Time Lodge, and Golden Chain Broome Time, the resort has evolved over the years into what it is today—a welcoming base for visitors to the Kimberley, known for value, comfort, and a strong connection to the region.

A Prime Location That Makes Broome Easy to Navigate

Close to everything that matters—without the noise

Broome Time Resort is well-positioned, situated between the town centre and Cable Beach. The resort offers convenient access to:

  • local cafes, restaurants, and taverns
  • Chinatown and Broome’s retail hub
  • major attractions and tour departure points
  • the airport and transport routes

Directly opposite the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre (BRAC), and with a bus stop right at the front, getting around is straightforward—even if you’re new to the area.

Whether you're travelling for work in the resources sector, managing a project in the Kimberley, or simply taking time out to experience one of Western Australia’s most unique destinations, the right accommodation can make a real difference.

A Property Built on Broome’s History

From its early beginnings to a modern resort experience

Broome Time Resort isn’t a new development trying to imitate the Kimberley—it’s part of its story.

Originally built in 1982 using locally produced Pindan bricks and opening in 1983 as the Original Cable Beach Resort, the property has been part of the Broome landscape for decades.

Over the years, it has evolved through several identities, but its foundation has remained the same: to offer affordable, comfortable accommodation with a strong local feel.

Today, that history adds character. It’s not overly polished or generic—it feels like Broome.

Discover Kimberley Art at Broome Time

Step into the Broome Time Art Gallery and explore a vibrant collection of artwork inspired by the unique landscapes and cultures of Broome and the Kimberley region.

Our gallery showcases a diverse range of Traditional and Contemporary Indigenous art, alongside handcrafted pieces including wood and boab nut carvings, didgeridoos, books, and locally inspired gifts. Each piece reflects the stories, colours, and spirit of this remarkable part of Western Australia.

Supporting Local Artists

At Broome Time, we proudly collaborate with talented artists from across the Kimberley and beyond. The gallery is cared for by local artist Paul Bonn, who is often available onsite to share insights into the artworks, the artists behind them, and the cultural significance of each piece. Whether you’re a collector or simply curious, you’re always welcome to learn more.

More Than a Gallery Experience

Throughout the year, we host artists-in-residence, offering guests a rare opportunity to see artworks come to life. Visitors can meet the artists, hear the stories behind their creations, and purchase truly one-of-a-kind pieces directly from the source.

For those seeking a more hands-on cultural experience, didgeridoo lessons are available upon request, offering a unique way to connect with one of Australia’s most iconic instruments.

Must-Do Broome Experiences:

1. Pearl Farm Tours

You'll be provided with a guide on a spellbinding tour who will show you all the secrets of pearl cultivation. This will include everything from seeding to harvesting. You'll even be provided with a live demonstration of how a pearl is extracted from an oyster. This process is complex, and not many people will get to witness it. Finally, you'll be able to explore farming operations from the water with breathtaking views.

2. Cable Beach

The sugar-white sands of this beach are absolutely spectacular, and there's nothing quite like riding a camel along this incredible location. You'll be assisted every step of the way, and an instructor will carefully choose the camel ideal for you. That way, you can form a real bond with one of these gentle creatures.

After everyone is on their camel, the journey will begin. You can sit back, relax and watch the waves in the distance. Along the way, you'll be provided with the history of camels in Australia. There's always time for a photo op, too, so you'll never forget this incredible experience.

3. Stand Up Paddle Boarding

You'll be taken out into the calm, clear waters around the coast. There, you'll be able to try your luck staying upright while exploring the thrill of this beloved sport. This can be great fun for people of all ages and even provides health benefits as exercise.

4. Journey to Gantheaume Point

At the edge of Cable Beach, you'll find the beautiful red rocks of Gantheaume Point. It is a well-known location for cliff jumping, offering an 8-metre drop into the water. The rocks can be reached via a short road. You'll see locals jump into the water during high tides, and it's a fantastic spot for fishing too.

5. Douglas Wilderness Park

The entry point is a giant saltwater croc's head, and you'll find a wide range of animals here. From crocodiles and kangaroos to lizards and snakes, animal lovers are sure to enjoy exploring this wonderful location.

You can even see incredible footage from vintage adventure films. Also, make sure you don't miss the animal feeding time, so you get to see how ferocious beasts, like crocodiles, devour their prey.

6. Sun Pictures

Relax and get lost in enchanting movies. There's always freshly made popcorn to tantalise your taste buds and plenty of chances to interact with your fellow moviegoers. You can even watch all the latest releases here!

If you don't want to sit on a deck chair, there's also the chance to take a blanket and choose a spot on the grass at the front of the screen. Experience a wonderful, romantic experience you're sure to enjoy sharing with your loved one.

7. Broome Museum

Broome Historical Society & Museum is a must-visit location while in Broome. Explore how the town has changed over time. Its location is opposite the Broome Pantry and Lottery Centre, Seaview Shopping Centre, and Town Beach.

There is even a Town Bus from our door to their door!

8. Staircase To The Moon

During this natural event, when the moon rises, it creates the illusion of stairs climbing up from the waters below. It's incredible to see, and around Town Beach you'll find plenty of entertainment, souvenirs, and local produce to enjoy.

The Staircase to the Moon occurs every couple of days from March through October. You can discover it for yourself over the tidal flats of Roebuck Bay. There's live entertainment every night that the natural phenomenon occurs, including music and a variety of performances.
